Live Long & Healthy - Simple steps

Live Long & Healthy - Simple steps

Sorry, I have been out of the loop - there is a reason why you haven't had any news from me lately!!!

For the last 2 weeks or so I have been having a ball. Not only have we been enjoying our lovely puppy Peaches, but I have also been celebrating my 60th birthday. I have loved every minute of enjoying meeting up with friends, talking on the phone with those whom I couldn’t meet in person due to logistics.
With the celebrating, I have been eating and drinking a lot more in volume and a lot of new things – including espresso Martinis – They went down a treat!!

“When everything changes, change everything”

“When everything changes, change everything”

I don’t know if you have heard the phrase “when everything changes, change everything”?

It is the title of a book by Neale Donald Walsh and is definitely worth reading as it is full of tips and antidotes as to how to make those changes!

Over the last 8-10 years Fast Track to Health has been slowly changing, evolving as we learn, learn about new research but the main way we learn is through YOU!

So, are we about to change Everything? In a way yes, but fundamentally, no!!

As you may have seen last week, we put a call out for volunteers to test some new additions to the program. And voila we have had many who have asked to join our trial. This trial is the start of the change, something bigger much bigger than just us!. When I put out the call, it was with the intention to just ask 5 willing to accept a challenge and to play along with us.

Intermittent fasting – simply the best way to keep healthy!

Intermittent fasting – simply the best way to keep healthy!

First what is intermittent Fasting?

There are so many ways to do this, some people fast for a few hours or a few days – but research is showing that we are better off eating within an 8-10-hour period. What this means is that you simply skip a meal.

What I have found over the last 10 years of doing this is that Breakfast for most, is the easiest meal to skip. Making sure you have lots of fluids to keep you hydrated. In no time at all you get used to this way of being and you don’t feel hungry. With Fast Track to Health we recommend eating between 11am and 8 pm which is a 9 hour window, but many clients find that they are simply not hungry at 11 and so don’t eat until 1 or 2 pm which makes their window of eating 7-8 hours.  But the best thing is that the health benefits are huge.

Why is adrenal health so important?

Why is adrenal health so important?

A question I am often asked - Why is adrenal health so important?

Over the last few years, after working with thousands of clients, I feel that looking after and healing our adrenal cortex is vital for nearly every symptom/disease process and it is well known that stress is our greatest killer. BUT if we look below the surface then ALL disease is caused by one stress or another.

Depression/Anxiety/Fatigue

Depression/Anxiety/Fatigue

Are you like a high proportion of the population suffering from either mild or debilitating feelings of anxiousness, depression and/or fatigue?

You could be suffering from ….. Fear! Yes that’s right these emotions/feelings are simply just fear in another guise. If we are in fear then all sorts of things can raise their ugly heads and bite us on the derriere.

Life has changed hugely over the last five decades; things we used to take for granted are no longer written in stone, like jobs for example. When I was growing up people had jobs for life, they stayed in their houses and they had neighbours that did the same. Everything was stable and ticked along at a gentle pace.

Gut health – Why has it become such BIG NEWS?

Gut health – Why has it become such BIG NEWS?

Over the last few years, probiotics, gut biome testing, fermented foods have all become mainstream news. You will see advert after advert on TV, Facebook, magazines etc. about our gut health and how this or that product will change everything for us.

Why, and are all these products really that good?

In our intestines we carry around a huge mixture of microbes that when in balance are helping us in so many ways. Some symptoms of dysbiosis – unbalanced gut flora – are obvious, from bloating, to constipation and diarrhoea and all the digestive symptoms in that area.

The Magic of Herbs Barberry

The Magic of Herbs Barberry

The magic of herbs – Barberry and one of its magical ingredients Berberine

As a herbalist I simply love herbs, I love the fact that there is a herbal remedy out there for every symptom/disease process out there! Big statement but it is so true. So I have decided to start doing a weekly blog about these amazing plants that surround us.

One of my teacher’s favourite sayings was “use what is in your own backyard” and what he meant was that if you are suffering then there will be a solution in your environment. I know that this is true and very often it will be the simple remedies that you can make at home that will be the most effective. Plus, it means that your health is in your hands.

GLUTATHIONE - Mother of all Antioxidants

GLUTATHIONE - Mother of all Antioxidants

Antioxidants are as you probably know superheroes for our body — with glutathione being no less than a cross between Superman and Underdog. As the most powerful antioxidant in the body, glutathione works around the clock to fend off the bad guys.

However not many people know about it

Glutathione is going to be a major helper as far as our health is concerned as research is showing us more and more as they begin to connect the dots between depleted stores of this antioxidant and the likelihood of chronic disease. If you haven’t heard of Glutathione yet then watch out – it will be a headliner!
